Most common alloy wheel damage

Why no welding?

  • No overheating
Lower risk of microcracks and distortion.
  • Stable structure
    Process without high temperatures.
  • Repeatable process
Easier to maintain consistent quality and results.
  • Better CNC preparation
    Convenient for further machining.

How does it work?

Technology: cold metal spraying (Cold Gas Spray / Cold Spray)

Preparation

Cleaning and

preparing the damaged area.

Powder deposition

Rebuilding the material with a

powder jet in a cold spray process.

Finishing

Levelling, profiling and

preparation for CNC machining / paint.

REYM-101-PRO — Cold Gas Spray equipment
3000 € net
Base model

REYM-101-PRO

Modern equipment for applying metallic coatings using the Cold Gas Spray method (cold spray) — without overheating the material.

  • Compressed air up to 0.6 MPa
  • Power supply 230 V (50/60 Hz)
  • Continuous control of temperature and spray parameters
REYM-102-PRO — professional Cold Gas Spray model
4000 € net
PRO • 2 powders

REYM-102-PRO

An upgraded REYM-101-PRO — more stable operation, new electronics and powder feeding, with the ability to work with two powder materials.

  • Work with 2 powder types (time-saving)
  • More powerful spray module (including nickel blends)
  • Required air flow: 0.45 m³/min

We do not provide alloy wheel repair as a service — we sell equipment and materials for repair shops.

Powders for alloy wheel repair (Cold Spray)

We select the powder based on the damage type: material build-up, corrosion sealing, and a finishing layer to match the wheel colour. Net prices and availability — in the shop.

Best for wheels

ALUMINIUM A-1MC

A bright aluminium powder optimised for Cold Spray — delivers a “cleaner” shade and visually matches machined alloy wheels better.

  • Bright layer — minimises colour differences
  • High corrosion resistance
  • Good structure for further machining
Material build-up
52 € net
Defect repair

ALUMINIUM A-2

For restoring shape and rebuilding material loss in aluminium and light alloys — filling pores, cracks and corrosion pits.

  • Geometry restoration (loss, pores, cracks)
  • Strong bonding to metal (Cold Spray)
  • Further mechanical machining possible
Sealing / corrosion
50 € net
Protection + repair

ALUMINIUM ZINC A-3

An Al–Zn alloy for corrosion repair and sealing micro-defects — ideal when you need fast defect “closure” and protection.

  • Seals pits and micro-gaps
  • Repairs chips and corrosion damage
  • Protective layer on metal parts
Not sure which powder to choose?
Send a photo of the wheel and describe the issue (material loss, corrosion, rim lip, finish) — we’ll recommend the powder and settings for your workshop.

Powders are selected based on the alloy, damage type and the desired visual finish. If in doubt — consult us before ordering.

Test Results

Vickers microhardness (HV1) results and NSS 168h corrosion test (ISO 9227) results for metallic coatings.

HV1

Microhardness (Vickers)

Report: 010–TV–2025 • 28.08.2025 • Technolutions (Łowicz)
Parameter Value
Method / standard Vickers HV1 per PN-EN ISO 6507-1:2024-04
Instrument FUTRURE-TECH FM-LXR hardness tester
Number of measurements 5 measurements per sample
Samples A-2 • A1-MC • CP-1
Results (mean ± U)
A-2 105,9 ± 16,0 HV1
A1-MC 63,8 ± 11,0 HV1
CP-1 153,0 ± 26,0 HV1
Notes Measurement on a cross-section. U — expanded uncertainty, k=2 (~95%).
HV1 data: arithmetic mean values + expanded uncertainty U.
NSS 168h

Corrosion test + conclusions

Report: DK–032–2025 • 02.09.2025 • ISO 9227
  • Conditions: neutral salt spray, pH 6.5–7.2; NaCl 5%; 35°C; duration 168 h.
  • Coating assessment: white corrosion; ISO 4628-3 rating WRi5.
  • Substrate assessment: no steel corrosion; on A-2 (uncoated side) a slight reddish deposit is visible.
  • Protection mechanism: cathodic protection — the coating acts as an anode protecting the exposed substrate (cathode).
Coating thickness (central area) Average (from 9 measurements)
Sample Z-1 158 µm
Sample A-3 184 µm
Conclusion: The NSS test confirms substrate protection (no steel corrosion). White corrosion indicates the coating is “working” as an anode — full coverage of edges and transition zones is critical.
